The Three Generations of Thought (“systems” in neuroscience)

The following article was shared by our chief scientist. You might wonder what it has to do with plasma physics, machine building or process development? Well since the physics of 3 generations is found in every system and GP plasma is interested in solving complex customer challenges, we treat these problems as holistic 'Systems' and can use the 3 generations knowledge even in how we leverage our team work to solve a customer problems.

Quantum Gravity Predicts the Existence of three Generations to every System… but only the lightest of the three is stable and has the potential to live forever (artist Livia Schwarzer)

The Three Generations (“systems” in neuroscience) of Thought

We have learned that a mathematical rule, called the – contracted - Bianchi identity, always leads to three “generations“ in which each and every system can exist (c.f. “3. 3 Generations of Elementary Particles… and Everything else”). From neuroscience it is known, that there are two different strategies of thought the human brain can activate. There, which is to say in the field of neuroscience, and here is an irony for you, these thought or thinking strategies are called “systems”. They are:

(system I thinking): the instinctive strategy, which is quite fast, but not very cognitive

(system II thinking): the cognitive one, which is slow

More or less just for entertainment reasons we now ask whether the Bianchi identity should not also hold a third option for the human brain in store (“system III thinking”).

We also ask ourselves whether such a third option could not be the internal temporary super-computer structures our brains apparently can created via neuronal entanglement during periods of high concentration, meditation or very special sleep and dream phases.
